Many of Harrodsburg’s historic buildings and pioneer-era stations are highlighted on a self-guided walking/driving tour. You’ll pass by stately pre-Civil War homes, churches and businesses. These are all prime examples of various styles of architecture used in Kentucky from 1700’s up to the Great Depression of the 1930’s.

The year 1774 comes to life as you enjoy a living history experience presented in historic Harrodsburg - Kentucky’s first permanent settlement. Preserving Kentucky's pioneer history, the fort has been reconstructed near the site of the original.
Heavy timbers form stockade walls and enclose the cabins and blockhouses. Interpreters in period-correct clothing perform pioneer tasks such as woodworking, weaving, broom making, spinning, doll making and blacksmithing and tend the farm animals and gardens. Enjoy the animal corral and visit Kentucky’s first schoolhouse, where students sat on wooden benches and used hornbooks for lessons.

Fort/Giftshop/Lincoln Marriage Temple:

Mansion Museum:

Small admission fee charged for entry into fort and mansion museum: $4:00 for 6 to 12, $6.00 for 55 +, $7.00 for 13 to 55, under six are admitted free. Rental fees for meeting rooms and shelter facility vary. Grounds: Open Daylight Hours. Closed for holidays Dec. 24 – Jan. 3. Otherwise, open all year. Free entry to park grounds (front & rear of old fort); includes playground, picnic facilities and paved walking trail.

    The Mercer County Health Department is accepting applications for a full time Public Health Nurse I
    General Duties include:
    This position serves under the direction of the Director. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Provides entry-level nursing functions and services to individuals and families under close supervision in a clinic or community setting, focusing on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. The nurse in this classification would receive job specific training in the requirements and scope of practice of the various assigned health department programs and services.Health department services are provided to all age populations. A brief description of health department services include adult and child immunizations, well child examinations, family planning exams, WIC services/promotion, dental varnish for children, pandemic response, public health preparedness, basic patient care, harm reduction services and promotion of the health department within the community.

    Starting Salary:
    $20.30-$25.24/hr negotiable with additional experience. Grade 17
